Lessons with Matt can be enjoyed at either of two great locations:
First Baptist Church of York is located just off Rt. 24 between the Galleria Mall and Central York High School. While those who live in the school districts of Central York, York Suburban, Northeastern, Dallastown, Red Lion, Eastern and York City should find this location to be quite convenient, it is also accessible to those in the West York, Dover, Spring Grove, Southeastern, Southern and Southwestern districts.
Lessons are normally conducted in the sanctuary – a large, bright room with great acoustics that can seat approximately 200 people. On the stage is a beautiful sounding 6½ -foot Schimmel grand piano, along with an electronic keyboard and other necessary accessories for both piano and trumpet lessons.
Alternatively, lessons may be held in the adjacent “choir room,” if students prefer a smaller environment and/or a vertical piano. That room contains a Kohler and Campbell studio upright in great condition. There is still plenty of room for parents/family to observe, if they wish to do so.
Just inside the main entrance is a comfortable waiting area for parents/family and guests. There are several other private areas in building that may also be used for waiting. Of course, parents are always welcome to sit in on lessons, or drop off students and pick them up at their convenience.
Canadochly Evangelical and Reformed Church is located on E. Prospect Rd. (Rt. 124) in eastern York. While those living in the school districts of Red Lion, Dallastown, Eastern, Central and Suburban should find this location to be quite convenient, it is also accessible to those in the York City, Southeastern, Southern, Southwestern, Spring Grove, Northeastern, West York and Dover districts.
Lessons with Matt are held in the sanctuary of the church, a large room with abundant seating for family/friends who wish to observe but not disturb. The wide open space (and high ceiling) provides a safe, comfortable, and acoustically optimal setting for lessons.
Although parents/guardians are welcome to sit in during lessons, they may choose to wait in the comfortable "lounge" area adjacent to the sanctuary. Since the church is rarely used by the congregation during the week, there are seldom any disturbances. Of course, parents are also welcome to drop off students and pick them up at their convenience.
Matt is proud to teach students from York, Red Lion, Dallastown, Manchester, Mount Wolf, Windsor, Hallam, Wrightsville, Felton, Stewartstown, New Freedom, Glen Rock, Shrewsbury, Dover, Spring Grove, Seven Valleys, Loganville, Brogue, York Haven and Lancaster.
